Vertical Spacing 1

Greetings,

I have the feeling that everyone has struggled with the difference between the vertical spacing designed and what we see when checking through the browser.

One expert suggested creating layers to get the layout exactly right, then converting to tables. Is this the best/only way?

layers can leave you with messy bloated code once you convert over. You can use shims (transparent spacer gifs of 1px x 1px) which you "size" to create the height spacings you want, or use CSS, and set your layout to the last pixel with that.

Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..

I like the idea of the shims when one can't get enough spacing. But mostly, I get too much vertical space.

If you visit these two web pages, you'll see that the first page's set of buttons to the right is what I want and how I designed it, and the second page's buttons have a mind of their own.

I don't know how to do CSS yet, and know I need to take a class. I know, I know...Britney Spears music should do the trick.

aer the images inside a table? if yes set the border to 1, u will know the error...
