We have approx 12 servers with DLT Tape drives using NT and Windows 2000 platforms and Backup Exec v8.6. We would like to test the integrity of our DLT tapes as part of Disaster Recovery. To do this, a restore selection can be made in Backup Exec using the previous nights backup catalog. However, as there are 12 drives, this can be time consuming going to each server and running a restore so I would like to consider the possibillity of automating the process possibly by using a scheduled job already predefined, however, this seems impossible to do as the restore process relies on the current catalog. As you know, a scheduled job would have to be configured using an existing catalog. Is there anyway to by pass this so that a scheduled restore job would automatically use the latest catalog or can you suggest any alternative method for my testing procedure?
