I have two options on a greeting when callers call my company. One is if you know your party's extension you may dial it now and the other is press '0' for the operator. The vector step is 'collect 5 digits after annoucement 89800.' I have 5-digit extensions in the PBX and the problem I am having is when a caller selects '0' there is a long delay before reaching the destination. Does anyone know how to get rid of the delay?

thx

Check the system features for a the vector timeout. Default is (I think) 10 secs.

Good luck.

What is happening is the switch is waiting for the other 4 digits. You might try saying press 1 if you know your partys ext or press 0 for the opt. After they press 1 ask them to enter the 5 digit number. Wisdom is Knowledge

If you press the # sign it will go to the next step of the vector.

I had the same problem until I put in the announcement "press 1 and the # sign". This is like enter on the PBX.

Good Luck

You may want to check your inter digit timer in system parameters multifrequency signaling . this is the wait time for expected digits. In the vector after collect 5 digits after annn XXXX next step route to att if digit = 0
Hope this helps
