VBScipt File Problem

A problem has just arisen. There are MP3 files in my music. Then the next time I viewed them, thay had changed to a VBScipt file. Even some JPEG's I have have turned into VBScipt Files in My Pictures & My Documents.When I press CTRL + ALT + DEL "Wscipt" is showing as running in the background. How can I correct this & how did it happen. This has happened to me before but it was corrected when I got so fed up that I formatted the whole hard drive. Thanks

That is the result of a virus. There are many VBS types that will do this to your mp3s and your jpgs. I couldn't tell you exactly which one you had, but you most likely aquired it by accidentally downloading it instead of an MP3. It can also come through email. Run an updated anti-virus program to keep this from happening.

BTW, formatting will erase that particular type of virus, so you are clean now.
