vbn files in quarantine

I have a quarantine folder with 77MB of *.vbn files.
nevertheless, Norton antivirus tells me the quarantine is empty?
what's going on here?
 
The vbn files are backup copies of files placed in quarantine when you have nav configured to back up files before taking action. You can delete them.
