I have an application written in VB6 which on some computers that it is being installed on gives the message:-

"The Jet VBA file (VBAJET.dll for 16-bit versions, or VBAJET32.dll for 32-bit versions) failed to initialize when called. Try reinstalling the applications that returned the error."

Reinstallation doesn't fix it.

Any suggestions ?

There are a few different things that can cause this.

1. Expsrv.dll is missing from the setup files
2. DAO or Jet files are missing or wrong version.

In my case, DAO350.dll was an older version. Once I unregistered the old dll and then registered the newer version, it worked fine. The web page I referred to gives a list of the files and their version #'s, and how to fix them.

Thanks Robert,

Tried your suggestions but with no success until Office 2000 SP-1 was applied - now it's humming away quite happily.

Regards, Doug.
