Hi All

I am using Windows XP Pro with Office XP on both my main computer and on my laptop.

On my main computer if I open an Excel file containing VBA then when I close it the Project Explorer window still shows the VBA project.

Say I open the file MyFile.xls which has macros then I see in the Project Explorer window VBA Project(MyFile.xls) with all the relevant worksheets, Forms and Modules.

If I then close the file, VBA Project(MyFile.xls) still appears in the Project Explorer window! If I highlight the project and right click then the 'Close Project' option is not available and the only way I can clear the project is by closing Excel and restarting it.

In some programs, I am opening tens of files and I then get an "I/O Error" which I think is created through all the memory being used by the still resident VBA projects.

On my laptop, if I open a file then close it, then Excel works properly and closes the VBA project.

Does anybody have any idea what is going on?

Paul

nope - but it's happening to me as well

Have you updated any add-ins etc recently ??

This is getting ridiculous!

I have used my Office XP CD to "Detect & Repair" my Office installation. No difference.

I have used my Office XP CD to re-install Office XP but again this has not made any difference.

I have no Add-ins installed.

My References are Visual Basic For Applications; Microsoft Excel 10.0 Object Library; OLE Automation and Microsoft Office 10.0 Object Library.

Basically, a clean system!

My only other recourse is to un-install Office XP and then re-install it!

Seeing exactly the same issue - It isn't about setting objects to nothing as I havn't even run the code that exists in some of the workbooks - I just opened the file and shut it again - VBA project is still lodged in VBE explorer though....
