VB Modules wont execute, but Macros will

What would cause all Event Procedures attached to a form not to execute, when macros still execute. I attempted creating a simple close form button on a fairly straightforward form and I got a "event procedure not defined" error. I used the command wizard even to create the Event procedure and got the same error. When i went through with a macro, the macro worked. Im not a big fan of mactros and would like to get this back into an event procedure. All event procedures on my 30+ other forms are working.

under tools-options click the forms reports tab then click the always use event procedures box and see if this does it

I gave this a go and it did not solve the problem. Than kyoufor the idea though.
