I can (fairly) easily use the built-in migration wizard to convert my VB6 code to VB2008. However, VB2010 does not appear to want to know about VB6, and will not recognise any project files. I know that this forum strictly does not cover VB2010, but has anyone got experience of this?

First off, you should try using Google. There is a lot of information out there as to how to resolve some of the issues with converting from vb6 to vb.net.

As an example, here is a link for a free book (it's OLD, but may be of value).

I used the following keywords:
how to convert vb6 code to vb.net 2010 code and google returns nearly 5000,000 hits!

Good luck

Thanks PRPhx. That book you mention certainly contains some excellent tips. But the point of my question was really to establish whether I am missing something obvious in the way of a setting in VS2010. When I want to try out some code snippet in VS2008, I can write it in VB6, then open it in VS2008 and the Upgrade Wizard would show the equivalent. I can save this, then open in VS2010, where again the Upgrade Wizard coverts it up to VS2010. But I seem unable to convert direct from VB6 to VS2010, and thus have to keep VS2008 installed as well in order to do this procedure. Is there any Wizard which will just convert code snippets from VB6 to VS2010?
