I have made an installer with packaging and deployment Wizard for a VB 6 project on Windows XP home Edition
when I tried to install the applicatoin on both Win XP home Edition and Windows 2000 prof, it failed always.
on Win XP it gave me the error: Type mismatch error
on win 2000 prof :some files on your system are out of date, do you want to update....
when i click Yes it updates the files (I am not sure) and it reload the machine and the same probleme persist.
please be of kind and help me.

Hi cheikh1,
I had a similar problem with my windows2000:I kept getting "some files on your system are out of date" during an installation of my App. The problem was solved when I installed lastest service pack for my vb and my windows and then made the installer again.
Hope it will work for you

Or try using Windows Installer.
You can download the Visual Studio Installer from the MS site.

... and of course ... don´t forget to have your regional settings set to English/US during creation of the Installerpackage

This was only needed with the a certain Service pack of VB.
I believe it was SP3 where it was corrected (should be using SP5)
Other than that, you do not need to have the system set to US format for the P&D wizard or VS Installer.

i have the same probleme and i would like to try the Visual studio installer method but i nedd explanation on how to use it and where can i get it, given that i use visual basic enterprise edition.
