VB 9 Overview

Just remember that that's for VB 9.0 (or .NET 3.0), not the release coming out this November.

My boss was down at PDC and was part of a committee that is discussing the next version (as in .NET 3.0) of Team System. It sounds like things are very much in the planning and discussing stages, so there's a very good chance what's in that document now won't be there when the product finally comes out a few years down the road.

But the xml querying does look kewl...I don't know if I like the term they use in the article of "Strong Duct Taping". LOL

I hope it is for 2010.

The one thing I don't like is that it adds more syntax to the language. I prefer a concise coding environment, which is why I like .Net over VB 6. Although if it makes some things easier...

What I don't like is that they change things so the old ways don't work anymore. Like the automatic instantiating or a form in vb2005, I haven't tried it yet but if you can't turn it of I will switch to c#. They can add things to make life easier but not change the structure.
