Actually, I'm not a technical user...

My son wants Visual Basic for his birthday. His school used Visual Basic 6. My question is, will Visual Basic 6 work fine on a Windows XP computer? Any pitfalls to watch out for? Or would I be better off spending 4 times as much to get Visual Basic.net?

No problems with VB6 and XP. If you want to move stuff between school and home they will both need the same version VB6 or VB.Net.

Make sure to apply the latest VB6 service packs.
