Hi,
I'd like to ask what is the best practice for the industry, when connecting your application to the underlying databases.

For instance do you make a global connection upon load of the project? Do you put it in a class and call it? As you can tell, I don't have the proper terminology.

Normally when I connect in MS Access with VBA I just open and close my connection at the module level. I'd like to know if there is a "best practice" way of doing this in VB 2008.

I appreciate any suggestions. I've searched the web today and found lots of ways of connecting, just no best practice.

Thanks much,
Christine
