I'm learning VB.NET with the express edition and was wondering if they have the Form Styles when creating a new form like Access does? What I mean is you select the particular style you want which might have a background image down the side or something that you can select for that form when creating it?

Thanks!

No, there isn't much the same between Access and .net. However you can add back ground images to your vb form, etc.

I would suggest you buy a beginners book to vb.net, as it's a totally different from doing things in Access.

I do have the MS VB 2005 Step by Step which seems really good, but I can't see where it covers some of this.

If I want to make a blank form that would only contain the background image and copyright information at the bottom. What is the best way to use that form as the default format that every new form item added to the project will use? I want the capability to make changes to the original form and all the others pick up the changes automatically.
Thanks!

Hi.

I'm in the process of learning VS too (VFP programmer).

One ways to achieve Form Style, is to create a basic form, with the basic info (background image, copyright information ... ) and sub-class it (inheritance).

There is an article at that show you how to do it.

Hope it help.

I read the article - thanks - but I'm confused, I guess because I'm not sure of when the classes are used. What I want to do is build a template form that has the background image, copyright, logo, menu, etc. Then when new forms are added to the project they will pick up the format before any changes are made for that particular form and when the template changes all forms change automatically as well as new forms. How do I start? I have a form to be inherited. Thanks!

I had this same question on another thread796-1395141 and got an answer, so I'm going to try to figure what was said. If you have anything else to add that I might need - thanks!

Rick in my other thread solved my problem - thanks.
