Values of Identity column after table is recreated? 1

If a populated table with an identity column as the primary key is dropped and then recreated, do the identity values reset to the seed value or do they resume based upon values in the old table?

Thank you. I am very familiar w/ DB2, but a newcomer to SQL Server so asking seemed better than assuming when I couldn't be sure from the online docs.
