Hi,

I have a Valcom V2003A in place at a new warehouse and am struggling with connecting it to our Gateway (G350).

In another warehouse, we used a port off the MM711 for this. (Different paging system otherwise).

I am getting conflicting information from my phone vendor and the guys who've installed the paging system, as to what's required. Connect via UPAM, UPAM + Bogen Amp, or connect directly to the Valcom from the MM711?

I was told to buy the UPAM and Bogen amp (which I did) but am not sure they're needed.

Can I just set up a loop start trunk group and place the port from the MM711 in it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Karen

Karen,

Thats how I did it when I wired trucking terminals. Create a trunk with an access code and wire that to the input of the Valcom. We used 7 as access code then 1, 2, 3 so we told users to dial 71 for all page, 72 for dock page, 73 for shop page...

Thanks Prflash. Just to confirm: I don't need the UPAM and Bogen amps? (They are so going back to my vendor...)

You wont need any amps as long as you use the Valcom 5watt speakers. The 2003A will power them. Just connect a 25 pair cable to the 2003A onto a 66 Block and wire it from there.

You shud be able to Jump each speaker for power onto another 66 block or just use the opposite side. Should work like a charm

I sure do miss those days of wiring a dirty Trucking terminal. nooooot

This worked like a charm. Thanks for your help!
