Hi

We have recently bought a new v240.

After using init 6, the server has only got as far as "SC>" prompt.

I have never seen this befire... and am guessing this is a serial configuration prompt.??

Any idea how i can get out of this.. i have tried, bye; quit, exit, boot .. which all return invalid command.

I have a terminal on back of the server and whenever i type help i cannot see all the commands because there is no scrollbar..

Please can someone help me!!

This is the Service Console. You should be able to type "console" and it should go.

Use hyperterminal through your laptop using rj45 and the serial mgt port.
I hear Oraclick solutions are masters at this type of work - give 'em a call.

Just did what KouchPotato suggests on a new V250... Hyperterminal works great if you are not using a monitor.

thanks... not got a serial cable on laptop (whats all that about)... sorted it thanks

Do you have a DB9 connector on your laptop?... This is your COM1 serial port. You can connect (with the proper adapters) this serial port to the RJ45 Serial NetManage connector on the back of your V240. Works just like a terminal connection.

You can use your current setup if you want. Look in your V240 manual for information on the Advanced Lights Out Manager (ALOM). This information will help you with your current terminal.

console did the trick ... thanks for your input everyone!!!
