I have a report that I created in 8.5 that combines several fields together to create a field to be used with Active Directory. The end result is about 199 characters in length. If I export to Excel it exports the entire field, however, if I export to TXT it cuts off most of the field.
I figured out that I can export to Excel and then do a save as and save it as .txt, however, the fields then have " " at the beginning and ending of the lines.
I tried exporting as TXT in Crystal XI and was able to get a few more of the characters, but still not the complete line.
Any suggestions?

It should handle it, that's odd. I just tried with CR 10 to a TEXT file and it handles > 200 characters.

How are you combining the fields, in a formula or a text box? Do you have Can Grow turned on?

Try the other of the two (you can drop fields into a text box), and make sure that you have the latest service pack installed:

I am combining the fields in a formula. I just tried it as a text box and when it exports in XI it exports a 0 KB file. (I exported the same thing as Excel and it had data!)
I did go back to the report with the formula and put the Can Grow and changed the margins and page setup to landscape. It now exports all the data, however, it appears to be wrapping the text on some of the lines. I will check to see if this is just how it appears in Notepad, but it seems like the combination of Can Grow and changing the margins to .10 and changing page setup to landscape may have been the fix.

OK, so if this is used exclusively for export, get yourself a nice BIG canvas be installing the Windows standard 3500CPS (something like that), it allows for about 100 feet in it's widest setting in landscape, that oughta resolve for you.
