Hello all, I have a question about using two monitors with one computer system. I have a Asus A7m MB, with the Asus v7700 VC, and running 98 second ed OS. What should I do to enable 2 monitors.....I've seen people with a VC on the PCI slot, will this enable me to view the monitors with one pic, like if I were watching a DVD move, which screen will get the pic and can I use both monitors as one? I have the gateway vx900 monitor with only one imput.......Thanks

Joe

You will need either a Dualhead graphics card with a splitter cable, or a pair of graphics cards (preferably from different manufacturers, or Windoze gets confused!).

The method you mention is the latter;

Simply plug in a PCI video board, connect a monitor, and Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP will all detect the second card. When you right click the desktop to call up the graphics properties, there will be two monitor icons in the Settings tab.

You may need to adjust these to get them positioned correctly, but you will get a single desktop across the two screens. I've done this a few times - it's really straightforward - and it's really cool B-)

You will need to make sure that the new board supports the resolution you require for your DVDs, since the colour depth and screen size settings will be limited by the graphics card with the lowest performance.

Hope this helps.
