I have approximately 150 Winodws 2000/NT/2003 clients which need to be upgraded from Veritas NetBackup 4.5 FP6 to 5.1 MP3. I'd like to push the 5.1 GA Client in "batch" upgrading them to 5.1 GA. I know I can use the GUI, but I would like to schedule the upgrades in waves throughout the night.

Additionally, I need to force a reboot after the 5.1 GA install. The Installation Guide for Winodws 5.1, mentions editing the silentclient.cmd script and remove the option, REBOOT="ReallySuppress" to force a reboot. I tried removing the option from silentclient.cmd, it doesn't work.

I've yet to have any success with modifying silentclient.cmd to do anything, except a new client install. The Master Server, Server List and Client Name end up being overwritten with a blank during an upgrade, forcing one to enter values for each respective field in silentclient.cmd.

Once I get 5.1 GA installed on the clients, I need to repeat this process for upgrading to MP3. Hopefully, after mastering the upgrade to 5.1 GA the MP3 upgrade will be easy.

Has anyone had any success scripting the upgrade to 5.1? any suggestions?

Thank you for your help
