We want to develop web applications to run on our Symbol MC3000 device under Windows CE.Net 4.20 and we'd like to have the barcode scanner basically just work all the time just like a keyboard input. Is this possible?

Talk to Symbol. They should be able to provide you with a program called ScanWedge that will do what you want.

I have programmed other Symbol devices (not the MC3000) using .NET CF and Symbol have always been most helpful in getting their devices to work.

BTW take a look at as they have some great open source extensions to the .NET Compact Framework that can save you hours of work.
