ok here's your answer to your question.
first go to show all network connections, in advanced at the top of the page select advanced settings you will see a box that lists all the connections which ever one is listed at the top is the master you will find that you can change this by using the arrows on the right hand side o/c of a reboot this will take affect...
so say lan is at top and you switch wirless on at same time progs hunting a network con (ie explorer) will use the lan if you switch off the lan and not the wireless after a few seconds it will see the lost lan and use wireless, then you put your lan back on after a few seconds it will revert to the lan to provide the networking.. it is true that both work together and you can set one to do specific jobs..... hope this helps u
