Using PHP against a Pervasive.SQL database???

I've been learning/using PHP with PostgreSQL, which is working out very well. I am now being asked to start using PHP against an ODBC Pervasive.SQL database.

Can someone tell me what I need to pay attention to or requirements that I will need to take into consideration. I realize that I will not be using PostgreSQL syntax(functions) but aside from that, what do I need to be concerned with.

Something to add...

The PHP is running on Linux/Apache box, not on a Windows box.
