MY
i need to know wether its a g0od idea to use page (access object) as a front end in a offline enviroment. Meaning, instead of using the form object, i would like to use oages for my customer user interface. Please remember its an offline enviroment.

Hi,

Although I can't see any problem with developing an offline application using Data Access pages but if you dont want to have your application webbased and all of the users have Access installed than it's a good idea to use forms and reports as there are so much options when you use form objects. I am afraid the Data Access pages offer a very limited functionality.

Cheers!

It's important to learn the rules so that you know how to break them.

hi there,

i fully concur with Aqif. i personally think DAP's are a waste of time.

if you want to have the 'web-based' style then do it properly...go client/server. the LAMP approach (linux/apache/mysql/php) is soooo simple to learn. Otherwise, stay with the "MS forms" approach.
