All PC's are W2K logging into a Netware 5 server. All users have their own NDS account, but only 1 generic login on the individual workstation. I want to map 2 drives using the Novell Login Script to point to a Shared folder on a W2K server. {Net Use k: \\server\share /user:%username% *} uses the generic Windows login. I want to have it come up with the NDS login. Is it somehow possible?

yep not a prob
same syntax as you wrote except a # in front
with the username bit though you are restrict to the many m$uck limitations - you would need to have a share for each username - cant understand why you would put the data on w2k when you have a netware server there

this will also give you a black box during the login. if you are going this way then a nicer way is to nal them a shortcut for the drive so it maps when they open it

I've had problems doing this in that manner because when the Novell script runs, you haven't yet authenticated to the NT stuff, so you sometimes get stuck with a dos box and it asks you if you are SOMELUSER. And if you're not that user, it's a hassle.

There are TID's documenting this, and one way to work around it is to run the NT authentication first, then the Novell login.. but even then sometimes it goes too fast.

Terry is right though, when you start doing this, eventually your whole network is ducktaped together and it's very difficult to manage. Just put the stuff on Novell if possible and save some hassles.

Thanks for the posts, but still no luck. I still get the login for the local workstation account, not the NDS account. I've been just trying this at the cmd prompt and not actually using the LO script. However, I did try using the LO script with the # and the @ at the start of the command and it still picked up the local workstation account, not the NDS one. Currently users have a NDS account and a W2K server account, both same login name. That's why I want it to poll the NDS username. I agree that moving data to Novell would be simple and would make life easier, but it is not possible in this situation.
