Hi, I want to create an AUDIO CD and use a webpage (made in Dreamweaver) to point to CD content,so that whenever someone clicks the items on the page, a specific Audio file is played. Thanks in advance, take care!

chkmg, do you want to create an entire website and load it from the CD?? Or just have the audio played from the CD??

If its the first options, its easy, simple create the site as you would, place all images in an 'Image' folder, html files in 'HTML' folder, audio files in 'Audio' folder. Save all the files on a CD, and you're done.

I need to play only a few Audio files from the CD and dont want to have a full site on it. I hope you will have a solution for that too, thanks for your concern!

chkmg, so the site itself will be on the internet, or on an intranet then?? And you want audio files to run from a CD?? This might be a problem for a few reasons:

1) Nowadays people have diff. drive letters for CDRoms(CDRom dive can be D: or E: or F:, etc.), and not knowing which drive might be problematic.

2) All your users will have to have a CD of the audio files in order to hear them.

Is there a reason why this is the setup your after??

GujuModel, I am very sorry to have not put the things together in a sensible manner. Actullay i need to Record a CD that should contain AUDIO files as well as an HTML page (containing File names). People should be able to access all the AUDIO files by clicking on the HTML page and it should open their default Media player, playing the Audio file. I am planning to present my friends multiple copies of it and want some way to be able to coop the difference in CD drive letters they might have, as you rightly mentioned.
I do appreciate your concern and thank you for giving me another chance to clarify my requirement, take care!

chkmg, ok this clears things a bit up. What you want to do is doable.

But you should be aware of litigations in USA over copyright infringement (and soon to be gloably), just make sure you have legal rights to copy and distribute the audio clips in mass.

To make the CD:
1) Create the HTML page with all the links to the audio clips, and whatnot.
2) Place all the audio clips in a folder (possibly name the folder 'auio')
3) Get a copy of autorun application. This application starts the CD from the users CDRom drive as soon as the PC recognizes there's a CD in the drive. You can get a free copy of autorun at: 4) Burn all the files onto the cd. Make sure the index.html and the autorun files are in the root directory of the CD.
5) Distribute (and hopefully not get sued over this).
6) Wish GUJUm0deL many thanks, and continue living life in bliss. LOL.

NOTE: Read the instructions from the site to learn how to use this application before burning the CD.

Thanks alot GujuModel, I am very greatful for your swift and detailed replies. Actually I am gonna distribute only personal Audio files and there is no copyright violation at all but I appreciate your concern about that and warning me. May your knowledge increase so that persons like me could have a benifit from you ( isn't it a bit selfish LOL), just kidding. There is no doubt that knowledge is the only asset that increases by giving it to others, take care buddy!

no need to "auto-play" application

u must have some CD (windows)at home with a small "autorun.ini" file on it...open it and look at it...apply to your goal of loading the HTML file that has the list.
clicking on the links to the files will initiate the application that user has associated with that audio file...

IF u would like to be more sophisticated then look at the link above otherwise save your money!
All the best!
