using grid as dataentry form

Dear Sir,
I want to using grid as a data entry form.I wish it work like this,
1.input code in colum 1 then seek it from table
2.if found, I want other columns show remain field value form table
Anyone can help?.Please Thank you for every kindness.

In the valid event of the textbox1 of the column1 do a seek on the table that holds the rest of the values;

SELECT myMain
set order to tag main
if seek (alltrim(this,value))
  scatter memvar memo&& If the table structure is the same in both tables
  select myCurrentTable
  GATHER memvar memo
endif

Dear mike,
Thank you very much for your kind.I try to put your code
to mygrid.It's work correctly,but it give me a little bit wrong,when
I click grid's scrollbar,data in grid disappear.!I don't know
what happen with it,
I use view as myCurrentTable,and set Recordsource properties of grid to this view,and I can't count data in grid
Have you any suggestion Mike.
