using foxbase program in windows XP home edition

i have an accounting software that work under foxbase program. in windows 98 system, the software work well, but when i installed it in windows xp system, it did't work.
any suggestion invited

Hi Dan,

Do you know what version of Foxpro the program was written in? There are issues with running DOS programs under XP; these have nothing to do with Foxpro.

When you say that the program didn't work, what exactly happened? Did it fail to load? Was there an error message?

FoxBase? Wow! It's kinda antique, y'know... [smile]
Try to recompile it in VFP ver. 6.0 or later, if you have the source code.

Sorry, I didn't notice you said Foxbase.

I guess you need to make some settings in XP to let it run a DOS app. Some sort of compatibility mode. Not sure about that, as I don't use XP.

If that doesn't work, Ilya's suggestion is good ... get hold of Visual Foxpro and re-compile. But you might need to change some of the code.
