I am considering implementing multiple backup sets on a handful of servers. We backup most of our servers full every night. There are a couple though that we backup full once a week and diff the other 6 nights.
On server-a I would like to create a backup set for full and schedule the default sub-client for that backup set to run Friday @ 6PM. Then create a backup set for diff and schedule the default sub-client on that backup set to run Sat-Thurs @ 6PM.
Would the diffs still just backup changed data since the full and diffs are now different backup sets? I would think so since the archive bit is set at the file level and oblivious to the backup set and or sub-client. Also if I wanted 30 day retention of all the data would 23 Days / 1 Cycle be the appropriate setting?
