Hi,

Previously, our website is registered under our Primary DNS and an external DNS by our ISP.

We have recently setup a secondary DNS and has submitted a request to register a new URL for the new website to use our own Primary and Secondary DNS. BUT the Registrar or during registration, it cannot find our secondary DNS.

Any idea why is this so ?

Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Regards,
SP

Hi,

Yes, it has a NS and a PTR A record in the Primary DNS.

SimonPeh,

You state that the registrar cannot find the secondary DNS server, but that the secondary DNS server has host and NS records on the primary DNS server.

Are you attempting to register a new domain, or just trying to change the secondary DNS for an existing domain?

We are trying to register a new domain. The secondary DNS was set up only recently.

The registrar cannot find our secondary domain when it tried to register the new domain.

I believe maybe becos we are in the edu domain thus an record may need to be register with the education ministry.
