I'm sure I saw this before, but I couldn't find the thread....

If I have 2 CDRWs in a machine, is it possible to burn 2 CD's at the same time?

As far as I can tell, as long as I use 2 CD burning programs, it should be OK.

Am I going insane, or am I right...?

(at the mo, odds are heavily in favour of the former...:))

No, I don't think you want 2 CD burning programs installed...they don't play well together.
In XP, if you plan to use software other than the native, you'll wanta' disable the XP burn capabililty.
IT CAN be done...but use the same app...

Here's a link to a discussion of doing it with SCSI drives...with an add-on SCSI controller and EZ CD Pro:

AFAIK, IDE/Windows can't handle it.
(sure I'll find out if that's in error!)

and just incase anyone is reading this but doesnt know.

I Doubt this is a good idea if both CD drives areant burn proof. Buffer underruns galore.

yeah, well, i've just managed to get a 24x CDRW, and I've already got a 32x at home, and just wondered. The 24x speed came courtesy of a major manufacturer who supplied 10 machines with them fitted, although we didn't order them, and have just said to keep them at no charge.

Our security policy, however, regards CDRWs as a big no-no, so its bonanza time for the IT dept..... Scotsdude[bravo]
