I would like to put all the sql users into a nt group and just grant that group permissions - but when i tried to do that - when users log into sql analyzer it says they are not valid users. Is there anyway i can get around this?

you have to add the group name under logins - i assume you did that ?

YOu should see this ntgroup as both a login in the security tab in EM, and in the user tab of the db you want to give them access to. Also when they connect what is their client connection setup to do? Make sure for 2000 they have multi-protocol checked
