Hope someone here can help. We are using W2K with AD and Exchage 2000

We had a user who left so we added her email address to her manager so she would recieve her mail and removed the address from the disabled user (with me so far?)

This worked fine and the manager recieved all her mail. But the manager now no longer wants the mail so we removed the addresses from her account BUT she is still recieving the mail to the removed address.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Those changes are not instant, you either wait, or re-replicate.

Thanks Marc,

We have waited for the replication but it is still happening a couple of days later.

Anyone have any ideas here?

I have removed the offending address from all mailing lists as well but still it is appearing in the mailbox.

It appears to be coming from an external address but I can find no way in Exchange to block a single address.

The original users account has been disabled but not removed, although all email addresses have been removed. Would removing the account completly make a difference?

ok, now you mention it coming from an external address?

Are we talking SPAM mail, or regular mail?

In other words, spam can be filtered, a 'real' person can be contacted to ask to stop or redirect.

REal mail but from a variety of sources. Basically all her mail is still being delivered eventhough we have removed the addresses

I see 2 quick options.

First check though that her address is not an alias in the managers properties..

1: give her account back the address and get mail delivered there only for a while.

2: delete the account completely if it is not used anymore.

Put full tracing on for a short period while you do some test-sending from hotmail or so.
