User picks up someone elses default printer!

Hi there,

I am running Metaframe 1.8 on a Windows NT4 (Terminal Server) farm of 2 servers. I have a remote site where the fault is affecting a small number of users on that site. Whenever they go to print, their printer always defaults to an installed printer on someone else’s PC on another site. It's always the same user and always the same printer. The users correct printers are being created on the terminal servers and the users can select them manually. The servers are also rebooted every night. Any ideas?

I have an idea- What is the client name of the user? When you install the full client it asks for a name for that install. Are they both the same name? When the user is connected look in the Management console for the name it shows under "Client Name". If you install the latest client I don't think it does that any more, it will use the workstation name.
When they both have the same name the server gets confused and does not know which printer to give out.
