user name field grey out in odbc call

my problem is that when I try to open a linked table in an Oracle database from Access, there is a prompt for the
username/password for the Oracle database. The users cannot type in their username because the field is grey out and retains the username that was used
to set up link to the oracle database.
I could see the username in the connect field of the
MSysObjects table. However I cannot change the values
in this table. How do I blank out this value to allow
users to type in their username.

Check the configuration of the ODBC connection itself. I think that's where the database authorization settings reside.
