user list from domain

I have to ask an obvious question but are you deffinatly logging on to the domain?
If so, can you see the user list as soon as you have logged in?
If so you could be getting disconnected by the server after inactivity?

I am sure that I am logged in to domain.
But sometimes, I can get user list from domain and often not.
I can explore to folders shared in server, so I guess I am not disconnected from it.
I am using XP Pro SP 1 anyway.
But there's one computer using Windows 98 SE can get user list from domain (other computers in my office using XP).
