You do realize, don't you, that a workgroup can have more than one account? The workgroup has to have the Admin account--it can't be deleted. It should also have an account for your network ID, so you can log on as the administrator.
It is normal that the Workgroup Information File section of the report list Name as something other than Admin. This is not a security account name, but just documentation of who the workgroup was created for. Typical names are "Payroll Department" etc. The security accounts are listed under "Groups" and "Users" at the end of the report (at least in my Access 2000 version). You can get the Admin password from there, if you need it, though I'm not sure why you would. You don't normally use the Admin account at all with a secured database, because it should have no permissions.
At any rate, you're starting over, so you need to make sure you're doing the following:
1. Run the Workgroup Administrator and join the system.mdw workgroup. The Admin account in this workgroup shouldn't have a password associated with it, so the logon prompt shouldn't even appear after you join the workgroup.
2. Start with the unsecured copy of the database. The wizard saved it for you, with a default extension of .bak.
3. Open the database and run the wizard.
Please try to be a little more descriptive. For instance, "When you start the wizard it defaults with my network id"--Where? Which text box on which dialog page? I think the problem is mainly mistaken expectations, but I can't correct them because I can't tell what it is I need to explain. I also think you're mixing up some concepts, such as the Admin account and an administrator account (they're different), but when you're vague I can't be sure.
