I have an existing user group called 'Accounts' with a handfull of existing members who access a folder called 'accounts' and this folder has full access NTFS permissions set for the Accounts user group. All the existing members can access the folder with no problems.
I have added a new user to the system and made them a member of the accounts user group but the user cannot access the accounts folder!!, getting a access denied message. I have even added my own personal login accounts to the group and I get the same message!!

If I add the the new user to the ntfs permissions directly access is gained
H E L P please.

Are you allowing enough time for the group membership to replicate through the domain. It maybe a case that the new user is a member of the group but not all DC's are aware and present you with the denial when accessing the share.

What permissions to the share itself are assigned, as opposed to the folders NTFS permissions?

The account was setup yesterday, the longest I've had to wait is hour for the replication to filter down.

Use won't get the new ACLs unless they log off. Did they do that?

I hope you find this post helpful.
