A new user I set up on our network can not save to our change any files on a network drive. The permissions are set for her and everyone else for full control. When I try to manually change a folder in the drive from read only, it automatically reverts back to read only. She cannot save anything to the shared drives because they all tell her it is read only. Any ideas?

You have a permission issue.

You must look at the share permissions of any group permissions, etc., on BOTH the share and on the Folder itself.

Remember that when using a share, determine what the combined share permissions are for the user. Next figure what the combined folder user permissions are. When accessing via the share, the most restrictive of the two is what applies.

This user has a read only condition either on the Folder (NTFS Permission) or on the Share (share permissions), or because of a group access. Until you change the restriction for this user, the access will not change. This user is restricted to READ only on either the Share or the FOlder permissions, or both.

Or theres a DENY on write hiding in a group.

I corrected this problem by rejoining the domain. Something happned the first time I joined the domain that was not allowing the permissions she should have had.

Thanks
