We are using Citrix Metaframe XP, FR2 on a windows 2000 server, one server in the farm. Recently we have been seeing the list of users and sessions disappear under the server properties within Citrix Management Console. I have to look under the processes tab to see what is going on. Sometimes we get the message "Citrix Management console error: Unable to collect session data for this server. The request timed out. Error Code: 527".
Citrix has a kb article CTX003648, but we do not get the error codes in the event viewer on the citrix server as described in that article (1015 and 2003). Although we didn't get these error messages I tried refreshing the local host cache as suggested in the linked article CTX759510, using the line command "dsmaint refreshlhc". I did not encounter problems stopping or restating the IMA service and therefore did not think recreating the local host cache is required.

We only have 20 users in our office and never that many using the citrix server at once.

Any suggestions?

I user mfadmin.exe or Citrix Server Administration rather than CMC for watching users!

You have got CMC to the latest SP as well?!?

Cheers,
Carl.

Thanks Carl.
Did you ever have this problem as well?
Are you referring to service pack 3 or a specific hotfix related to CMC?

I've not seen this issue but I only use CMC to do printers and published applications!

My environment is still on SP1 but on the CD there is the SP1 service pack and a Service Pack for CMC, so when I build a new server, I install the CMC service pack and then service pack MetaFrame, it may be worth checking the SP3 CD for it's contents or the autorun menu system.

Cheers,
Carl.
