hello everybody,

i created XY use account in local user and groups which is in computer management of 2000 server, after that i run the active directory services, then it became ad domain controller, the same XY user is able to login on the network(ie on the DC also), we are able to see the user profile of XY in computer system properties , i want to reset the password of the XY but unable to find the user XY in actve directory, any suggestions will be highly appericaited

You have to boot the DC in AD Restore Mode. When your in AD restore mode (AD shut Down), you will have access to this user account. Right click My Computer and select MANAGE. You can reset the password here.

-hope this helps...

The user should've been moved into AD when you ran dcpromo. Did you look in the users container in AD users and computers?
