I have an MS Word document that contain around 20 pictures. The file is about 12 MB in size.

The problem is that I need to create 10 language versions of this file.

What I want to do is export the pictures in the source file into a folder so that I can just link them back into the documents. That way all 10-language version will not be more than 13 MB, instead of 120 MB.

The problem is that nobody knows where the source files are for the pictures and all we have are the pictures in the Word doc.

How can I export these pictures so that they can be placed in a folder and be able to be used by all 10 files.

I have tried to copy the picture from the source file and then “Paste Special” > “Paste Link” but it is grayed out. This seems to only work with text. Or am I doing something wrong?

I would be grateful if anyone could advise me on a solution here.

Many thanks
RW

Try this (I've done it many times and it works):
Highlight the picture and copy it, open PhotoEditor or Paint or some picture imaging software and paste the picture then save it as jpg or gif format to your chosen folder. Repeat for each picture then you have a saved copy of each one. You can then insert the pictures into each of your Word docs.
