Is there any way that I can format a field in my table to take a fraction? - I realize that I could just make it text and write it manually, but I want to be able to total it as a real number in a query. I see that Excel can do this, but I can't figure out how to format for Access - I don't want the user to input the decimal eqivalent if at all possible.

Thanks,
Milin

I'm not aware of the capability to set field formats to custom 'values', so I would think that it is not possible. It is, of course, trivial to input fractions in (single, double or currency fields, so it would just be the display of the fraction as a fraction which is the problem? (Note that input w/ a fraction - as in excell - needs to be somewhat different, as in:

[tab]123+1/4 = 123.25
[tab] 123 1/4 = 123 0.25 (which is two seperate numbers)

So a 'small' function to format the values as fractions would allow you to display your information in the fractional format.

I'll see if I can find a reasonable algorythym to convert decimal to fraction and post later (Monday?)
