I have never written any code to handle hardware before (specialize in DB programming and some RS232 Apps) so I don't know where to start... Here the deal:

I have a PC in my office, one in my spare room, and one in my basement, all connected on a 10/100 LAN. I spend a lot of time in my basement office since it is the fastest PC and connected directly to the net over a cable modem. Well... we recently got a puppy, and I loose track of him!!!

I would like to be able to write a program to stream the audio from two of those locations and be able to selectively listen to either one from the third location. They all have sound cards... and microphones.

Any tips on where to begin?! =====================

You might be better off searching for a little program that gamers use to communicate while playing games. VoiceOverNet I think it's called... and look into

Why don't you go low-tech and have a sensor-triggered
(maybe sound or electric-eye) walkie-talkie? It sounds quick and easy, as you already have most of the stuff.

I was going to go low tech... even purchase a baby monitor or even those neat cameras. But that costs money... Something the wife doesn't like me to spend!)

That is when I came up with the hair-brained idea to use the PC... and some down and dirty VB coding. It actually came to me when I knocked my mic over and the nasty feed back when it came close the the speakers told me it was live! *LIGHT BULB* goes off in the head.

Thanks for the input you two!
