I have a Canon D1250 U2 Scanner. I have installed it on Windows XP Professional. It was only receognised as being attached to USB1 port. I downloaded Service pack1 to ensure USB2 support, but still the same problem.
Listing under Device Manager USB Controllers is
USB2 root hub
USB Printing support
USB Root hub
USB Root hub
USB Root hub
Via Rev 5 or later USB universal hub controller
Via Rev 5 or later USB universal hub controller
Via Rev 5 or later USB universal hub controller
Via USB 2 Enhanced Hub controller.
Should I have three instances of USB root hub and Via Rev 5.
Should I delete the repeated items. Could this be the problem.
USB2 is very new to me, so I am in the dark a bit. Help would be very much appreciated please.

Since posting the question about Canon USB2 Scanner and USB2 support I have found the answer which may be useful to anyone else with this problem. If you are running Windows XP and have an AMD motherboard with Via chipset the problem occurs because of a power fluctuation when turning on any other USB device. To correct this I was advised by Canon tech support to go to viaarena.com and download and install 4 in 1 driver for AMD. I have done this and now my scanner is working perfectly.
