Hi,

Our company uses USB memory sticks to let users update their machinesoftware. The problem is that even when we install the drivers for those sticks before the machines are delivered, new sticks (even sometimes when they are the same brand) need a driver update and that can take a while. The consequence is that the hardware drivers are installed while the machinesoftware is loading and its slowing everything down... Is it possible to make this USB recognition and driver installation faster? If not what would you do in this situation? Can we use some generic drivers that work with every stick and don't need to be installed again and again?

Thx in advance,

RaKKeR

although a very basic idea many of the usb sticks are driverless. Anything it needs to set up takes about 5 seconds so would be fine for most machines.

I use a 256mb version by disgo which is driverless and I'm pretty sure i spotted others that were driverless as well.

First of all, thx for you reply!

Driverless? Do you mean with the drivers shipped into the stick's firmware? Our sticks are recognized and installed in about 30 secs (too long) and after that recognition takes only about 1 sec and installation is not needed anymore. Those 30 secs are too long coz our customers are very impatient and our app slows down alot...
