USB not working - NTKERN.VXD

Hi,

I've recently bought a digital camera and thought I would take advantage of my USB Port.....er not likely, came the PC's reply!

I connected it up but nothing happened, so I looked at the device manager and over the USB device there was the yellow exclamation mark. I looked at the properties and the message displayed said,

'This device is not working, NTKERN.VXD device loader for this device could not load the device driver (code 2)'

I've tried re-installing the drivers from the Win98SE disk, but this didn't fix it - I tried downloading the NTKERN.VXD and replacing my existing one...still nothing.

Any suggestions....??

Following on from my earlier post I tried this solution from the microsfot support site

It advises to extract 3 files from the Win98 CD:

uhcd.sys
usbhub.sys
usbd.sys

I did this but I've just realised I did it from my WIN98SE disk, do you think this will matter? If so, any suggestions on where I can get hold of these 3 files??

I don't think it will matter because windows 98 and 98SE aren't much different.
