The only drivers I have for my modular USB modem are version 2.7 (the latest) for windows 98.

When I install windows 2000 will these drivers work?

Chris

That is difficult to answer not knowing what make and model of modem. There is no guarantee it will work sometimes w2k finds the drivers in its files, sometimes it will work with the older drivers after an upgrade.Post the model and make or do a search on or for updated 2000 drivers.

Windows 98 USB Modem Drivers
Windows 98 Driver V90/K56 USB modem Ver 2.7 (updated 18/01/2000)
To install these new drivers:

Download and unzip to a new directory called USB.

Go to Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs click on Uninstall V90 56K USB modem, then click the add button, RESTART the PC (start). The USB modem will be detected. Follow the installations instructions in the USB user guide until the window titled ‘Add new Hardware wizard - Windows will search for new drivers in its driver database on your hard drive, and in any of the following selected locations. Click next to continue.’ is displayed. Ensure ‘Specify a location’ is checked, click browse and navigate to the USB folder. Follow the user guide instructions for the rest of the installation process.

Sorry bad post But that is the modem Modular technology 560 USB I bought it with out box so I have no more information.

Chris

Maybe I could choose a similar modem after installation that mine maybe compatible with?

Chris

Modular technology doesn't support anything under windows 2000, currently they have a beta driver for windows 2000. This is available from their sit thecn click support, then drivers, then windows 2000.

Thankyou for that for some reason I missed that link. Not sure if I will use win2000 I will have beta drivers for both the modem and my soundcard. If I do upgrade I hope these drivers don't effect something like data on the hard disk or cause system crashes.
