USB working for KYB, mouse, usb serial, usb to usb connection, usb floppy.

Flash drive worked on computer Win 98SE.

Installed Win2K. Everything working but inserting the usb flash drive in a USB hub makes system go into hard run.

Checked on FIC site. Downloaded bios upgrade. Haven't installed bios upgrade yet. A little about USB not working with Epson printer and Kodak Camera; but nothing about flash drive.

VIA updates downloaded and installed. Upgraded to USB 2.0 and still get hangup with flash drive.

USB flash drive works on Dell with Win2k and Northgate Laptop with Win2k but these are Intell P4's.

Did not install bios upgrade because had problem making bootable Win2k setup disks - it dies because of problem with compact raid controller .sys file corruption. Will put the flash on another bootable floppy.

Any idea's?

Same problem but with Lexar jump drive. Been in contact with Lexar support countless times - many ideas but none have worked. I notice that we both have via updates for usb2 installed on our machines. Could this be common factor I wonder?

I haven't a clue, but here is some data:

I use a Lexar 256MB JumpDrive (USB 2.0) with no problems on:
Intel based XP Pro with USB 2.0
Intel based W2000 with USB 1.1
AMD based XP Home laptop with USB 1.1

In all cases, the JumpDrive uses the stock Microsoft drivers automatically.

Sounds like some hardware issue with the USB controller to me.

I agree, I think it must be incompatibility with Via controller as I have tried on other PC's with Pentium and no problems. Anyone out there know how to solve Via problem.

At long last I have found solution to flash drive problem! The demon seems to be Creative Disc Detector. I have disabled this and it works fine.
