When I plug in my HP Photosmart 315 Digital Camera, it shows that it has been detected. But the Camera Wizard does not start and the camera does not show up in "My Computer" anywhere as a Removable Drive.

It is just a setting on one machine that is causing the problem. I can put the camera on another XP Computer and it works perfectly.

Any idea what the problem is?

Thank you!!!!

UPDATE.

The problem is when I plug in and turn on the digital camera, Windows is recognizing it as a Removeable Drive and it is assigning it Drive Letter F.

Well that drive is already in use by a Mapped Network Drive.

I can run the diskmgmt.msc to find the Camera and change the drive letter manually. Is there a way for Windows to Automatically do this?

Please let me know.

Thank you!

Drive Image turned out to be the problem I had with my digital camera. When I went to transfer photo's it would asign a drive letter but that was all. Uninstalled Drive Image after doing lots of research and camera would then download pictures.

Sounds reasonable.

See if Drive Image can be moved to a different virutal drive letter, as I would hate to see you lose your backup capability.

In the alternative, you can use dispart scripting with the Assign value to move the drive letter at boot.
